This funding mechanism is used to mobilise capital for projects thatphysically remove plastic from the environment or from activities
that recycle materials that would be otherwise disposed of. These projects can take various forms, including beaches, river clean-
ups, and recovering and recycling technologies. The collection or recycling activities generate plastic credits, which are transferable units representing a specific quantity of plastic collected and possibly recycled.
